We were driving to get groceries past the County Center when my fiance` saw the sign. "DOG AND CAT ADOPTION FAIR." I knew it was coming...

"Can we go in! Please!" Her parents would never allow her to bring one home.

"On the way back," I promised.

3 hours and one pleading phone call with her father later and we had adopted Major. I have to admit, for a poodle he's pretty cool. He can be lazy or rambunctious, disinterested or engaged, slow to catch on or smart, a great defender or a total wuss... but he is always loyal and charming.

How could I resist taking photo's of him?

 

Photo Enhancement

Sometimes when shooting, the great outdoors just isn't in your favor. Either you didn't bring the right equipment or there is no equipment that can make it easy on you. That's where photo enhancement comes into play. Some people may think it a cheap way of making yourself look better, but that's poppycock. Photo enhancement takes a good photo and makes it great, but it can't take a terrible photo and make it good.

After a recent game, some of the Eastchester High School football players asked me to touch up some photo's that a local photographer took for them. I was more than happy to do so. Here are some before and after samples of the photo's they sent me:

Music Video - "Achiever"

It's always a great opportunity when I get the chance to direct AND edit a project. So when NYC punk band Tied For Last said they wanted a music video, well I just had to deliver one with all the attitude, style and fun of their live shows.

I've been a fan of the group for awhile now and always felt that their shows packed a little extra punch when compared to their recordings. And it's obvious why: These people are dripping with personality. I was more than happy to bring together the personality of the live show with the furious sounds of the music recordings with this video.

 If you all enjoy watching it half as much as I enjoyed making it, then it was a great success. Without further ado...

Made In America, Printed In Japan

In late 2008,  my employer wanted to put out an ad after the market had seen some serious tumbling. I worked closely with our marketing consultant who recommended a simple, text based message to customers and potential customers.

Despite working at a global organization, I was surprised to learn that my ad made an impression in a foreign market and that there was a big name publisher who wanted to translate the ad into the local language and run it in their magazines! This was my first job out of college, after all and the first time my work was translated into a foreign language.

Seeing the ad in Japanese so that it may appear in Nikkei's business publications was an a unique thrill and I'm proud to see my work make it's way around the world!

Eastchester vs. Brewster - High School Football [9-16-11]

I really love the summer and I'm always sad when the leaves start changing colors here in New York. Thankfully, the dull ache in my heart is eased by the knowledge that it's football season and there's plenty to be excited about.
